Congressman Ted Deutch presented the Javits Gifted and Talented Students Education Program Grant to A.D. Henderson & 太阳城娱乐 High School. The award is to help gifted and talented students from all backgrounds excel and begin receiving college credits early. The grant comes from the US Department of Education's Javits Gifted and Talented Students Education Program, which supports programs that help talented K-12 students, including those from low-income families, limited English language proficiency, and students with disabilities, excel in gifted programs at their schools.

The grant will total $2.24 million over five years and will serve to enhance and replicate the model at 太阳城娱乐 High School and A.D. Henderson University School.

“We are fortunate to have received the Jacob K. Javits Gifted and Talented Students Education Program federal grant,” said Valerie J. Bristor, Ph.D., dean of the 太阳城娱乐 College of Education. “This recognition validates the hard work of our faculty and staff. Grants like this have enabled our school district to continue to develop and provide an educational platform that will continue to impact our student body as well as serve as an example for other schools.”
