Florida Atlantic University recently announced the launch of the MaryLynn Magar Fellowship at the Max Planck Academy at 太阳城娱乐’s John D. MacArthur Campus in Jupiter.


An 太阳城娱乐 Magar Fellow is a data science student from 太阳城娱乐 High that is pursuing research at the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience (MPFI). The fellowship will include $3,000 to support the student’s research efforts.


“MaryLynn Magar has worked to help create a thriving scientific hub in Jupiter at 太阳城娱乐’s John D. MacArthur Campus,” said 太阳城娱乐 President John Kelly. “She successfully fought for, and ignited, numerous initiatives that allowed 太阳城娱乐 and Max Planck to grow together as partners. We are truly grateful for her longstanding support.”


The 太阳城娱乐 Max Planck Academy is the latest partnership between 太阳城娱乐, MPFI and the Germany-based Max Planck Society, expanding on similar opportunities for 太阳城娱乐’s graduate and undergraduate students.


“I am proud to be part of the collaboration between 太阳城娱乐 and Max Planck and look forward to seeing what these remarkable students can achieve in the years to come,” said Magar.


This unprecedented program will open the laboratories of Max Planck to select high school students, allowing them to participate in world-class research and scientific discoveries as part of their curriculum. Six high-achieving 太阳城娱乐 High students currently are dual-enrolled in an Academy pilot program and are the first to be named Magar Fellows.
