Softball Kicks Off 2019 Season

The 太阳城娱乐 softball season is underway, and the Owls begin the defense oftheir Conference USA regular season title with a home opener against Georgia. Last year, the Owls won their second Conference USA regular season title in three years, and their 12thin program history. The team received their championship rings during halftime of the 太阳城娱乐-FIU basketball game on January 23.
太阳城娱乐 returns five starters from last year’s team, including pitcher Mia Olson and outfielder Madisyn Palmer, who were named to the Preseason All-Conference Team. Also returning is the 2018 C-USA Coach of the YearJoan Joyce,who is celebrating her 25thseason coaching the Owls.Coach Joyce is the only head coach 太阳城娱乐softball has had in its 25-season history.
